Book Notice

I wanted to bring to the attention of my dear readers the recent publication of The Good and Beautiful God: Falling in Love with the God Jesus Knows (IVP, 2009). The book, by James Bryan Smith, has been heralded by Dallas Willard as “the best practice i have seen in Christian spiritual formation.”
I have had the privilege to know some of the people that were involved with this book, and they are some of the most Christ-like people i know. This material has played a role in that, and in my humble opinion its worth it for anyone to check out the book (the 1st in a series). If you have any interest in spiritual formation, then this book is a must.
Back @ It
So my wife and i returned from our vacation a few days ago. Had a good time, except for when we both were sick (briefly). Due to school deadlines and ministry work i am on somewhat of a continued hiatus. Things will be better eventually (mid-August?). For now, here are a few fun resources i have recently found from Ben & Nick’s blogs:
- A brief critique of calvinism by Roger Olson.
- A few new resources to look at about Calvin.
- A new Harvard theology blog.
- An entire “blogged” Galatians commentary.
- Online access to Thomas Weinandy’s dissertation.
Time to Go
For the next few days my wonderful wife and I are headed to the Ozarks, one of the areas we like to go relax at. Hopefully we can go play @ Beaver Lake (pictured above). So posting will continue to be light this month. After vacation, i have got Jr High Camp & some major papers due this month. I will hopefully get a few posts up this month, but if not, oh well.
