  1. The IVP Dictionaries (8 volumes: 4 OT, 4 NT) or Anchor Bible Dictionary are the best but they are expemsive to buy all at once. If you are looking for a good 1 volume, the IVP New Dictionary of Theology ed. Alexander, Rosner, Carson and Goldsworthy is great and so is the IVP New Dictionary of Theology ed. by Sinclair Ferguson. Those are each about $40. Baker Theological Dictionary ed. Elwell is pretty good too.

  2. daniel,

Thanks for the suggestions. I am aware of the excellent black IVP volumes, but i thought they were more forcused on biblical themes. I just bought the concise version of the baker edited by elwell and toon. It is a bit dated, but it still looks like it will be very helpful.

Thanks for the suggestions, and for stopping by!
